Colour

P having a discussion to herself this morning:

P "We three are white"

Me (interjecting) "What about daddy?"
P "Daddy is brown"
Me "Well, if mummy is white and daddy is brown, what does that make you?"
P "I'm white"
Me "I think you are light brown"
P "No, I'm not brown"
Me "Maybe you are a little bit brown and a little bit white"
P "You are joking me mum"
Me "No, you are a mix of mum and dad"
P "But what does that make?"
Me "That makes for two beautiful little girls"

P "Stop joking me mum!"

(I must note that her favourite teacher is "brown", so I'm not quite sure why she so clearly defines herself as white??)

That's gorgeous! So simple, you're defined by the colour of your skin and that's all it is! :-) You could tell her that she's "olive" skinned which EVERYONE who it "white" would LOVE to be - so she's a VERY lucky little girl! :-)

I would love to have a child's mind for a day. What on earth is going on in there? Where do they come up with this stuff?
